Age Is Just a Number — Starting Your Fitness Journey After 40

When I stepped on stage for my first Figure competition at 48 years old, I wasn't trying to win — I was trying to show my daughter that age does not define our abilities. That moment changed everything about how I coach today.

Your Body Responds at Any Age

Muscle doesn't know your birth year. What it knows is stimulus, recovery, and consistency. I've trained clients in their 20s and clients well into their 60s, and the principles are the same — only the starting point and progression differ.

Start With What You Have

You don't need a perfect gym or a perfect schedule. You need a plan that fits your life and a coach who adjusts it as you go. That's why I never use catch-all programming — every person gets a plan tailored to THEM.

The Compound Effect

Small, consistent actions beat dramatic, unsustainable ones every time. A 30-minute session you actually show up for beats a 90-minute plan you abandon in week two. Build the habit first, then build the intensity.
